Climate
The climate of Burkina Faso is tropical. The year can be divided into three climatic parts: dry and cool from November to February, hot and dry from March through May and hot and wet from June through October. Rainfall is higher in the south than the north decreasing from 1000 mm to 250 mm. Conditions are best from November to February when the Harmattan desert winds chase away the usual humidity and days are cooler, crisper and enjoyably sunny.
During cool weather (November to February), maximum temperatures average 29°C and humidity is absent. The extreme heat of March, April and May is unpleasant and humid with daytime temperatures in excess of 40°C. The rains in June bring temperatures down marginally.
